EarthCam, which bills itself as the "recognized authority on the Internet camera industry" (um, okay!), just came out with its seventh annual list of the world's 25 best Web cams. All of the sites are worth checking out, but the most interesting by far is the "jailcam" in the Anderson County, Tenn., sheriff's department.
Because it's a real live transmission from the jail, the cam site comes with a warning: "Instances of violence or sexually inappropriate behavior by detainees during the booking process may occur. Viewer discretion is advised."
Looks like somebody's giving the cops in Louisville a run for their money.
What an interesting site. I was on for several hours last night.
What was almost more interesting than the cam (it was a slow night) was talking with some of the locals on the forum as they talked about the way meth has devastated their community.
