The Savannah College of Art and Design had the same kind of impact on downtown Savannah, GA, and it is attempting to do the same thing in parts of Atlanta now, as well.

Orlando's downtown law school isn't a part of Orlando's University of Central Florida. It belongs to Tallahassee-based Florida A&M, a historically black university whose original law school -- created to keep African Americans out of Gainesville's University of Florida, the state' s only other public law school at the time -- was closed down in the early 1970s, just as a new law school opened at Tallahassee's Florida State University.

This is related only in general sense, but I'm coming up empty on the net. Has anyone seen a study or report done on the impact on safety and development by relocating police HQs back into downtowns. I'm in a good mid size city with a downtown that has all the common problems, considering very conceptually relocating police HQ. Any leads will be a great help.
