The interview may have been virtual, but it was actually interesting and kind of newsworthy.
For one, Newsom says he believes his prominent role in approving same-sex marriages in 2004 has closed a lot of political doors:
"I’ve basically written myself off of any prospects of running for any different office, and I certainly won’t be appointed by any administration or special councils because I’m a time bomb and too controversial. And I’m not just saying for Republicans."
Newsom also discusses Democratic presidential candidates, Linden Lab (which started Second Life and is based in San Francisco), and Dick Cheney's refusal to answer Wolf Blitzer's questions about same-sex parenting.
