Democratic state Rep. Darrel Aubertine won a special state Senate election yesterday, moving his party within two seats of ending the GOP's decades-long dominance of the upper chamber in New York.
AP: "With all the precincts reporting, Aubertine had 27,901 votes, or 52 percent, to 25,345 votes for Barclay, 48 percent."
Update: The New York Times has a longer take on this election.
